On Kojo Antwi: A Role Model in Life and Music

Okyeame Kwame showered praise on Ghanaian highlife legend Kojo Antwi, describing him as a guiding force in his life. He highlighted Kojo Antwi’s ability to balance an impactful career, successful entrepreneurship, and a private personal life as qualities he seeks to emulate.

“Kojo Antwi is not just about his music but his entire way of life. He has built a brand and family that are enviable. If I model my life after him, I believe I will achieve something similar,” Okyeame Kwame explained.

He also expressed admiration for Kojo Antwi’s longevity in the music industry, calling him an inspiration for all Ghanaian artists..

On Dissociating From Bradez and Andy Dosty’s Role

Okyeame Kwame elaborated on his decision to step away from Bradez, the group he co-founded with his brothers, Flowking Stone and Kunta Kinte. He clarified that the move was not motivated by any conflict but a strategic choice to help his brothers grow independently.

In a surprising revelation, Andy Dosty shared how he influenced this decision. According to Andy, he placed a call to Okyeame Kwame and advised him to give his brothers the space to thrive.

“I told Okyeame Kwame, ‘Let those boys be boys. They can care for themselves and they will grow,’” Andy Dosty recalled during the interview.

Okyeame Kwame credited this advice as instrumental in his decision, noting that it turned out to be the right move as his brothers have since developed their unique artistic identities.

“It was tough stepping aside, but Andy’s words reassured me. Sometimes, people need to find their own wings to fly,” Okyeame Kwame reflected.

Political Neutrality: Balancing Career and Contracts

Okyeame Kwame also addressed his decision to decline an invitation to join Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s Manifesto Committee for Creative Arts. He explained that contractual obligations with several brands required him to maintain a politically neutral stance.

“At first, I was excited to join the committee and contribute to Ghana’s creative arts policy, but I realized my contracts demanded neutrality. I had to prioritize my professional obligations,” he shared.

He further commented on Ghana’s political environment, contrasting it with countries like the United States, where creatives can openly support political parties without career repercussions.

“In Ghana, taking a political side can lead to being ostracized. It’s challenging for artists who want to remain inclusive in their messaging,” he explained

Clearing Up Rumors About Andy Dosty’s Age

In a humorous segment, Okyeame Kwame addressed rumors about Andy Dosty’s age. He clarified that he is older than Andy Dosty, attributing the confusion to Andy’s early start in the entertainment industry.

The two reminisced about their childhood in Kumasi, where their mothers were close friends.

“People think Andy is older because he entered the industry early. But I’ve known him since we were kids, and I can confirm he’s younger than me,” Okyeame Kwame joked..

Okyeame Kwame hinted at upcoming projects that will continue to push creative boundaries. He also reaffirmed his commitment to social advocacy, particularly in raising awareness about hepatitis B and promoting healthy lifestyles.
