Mzbel Responds After Prophet Fire Oja Denies Being Arrested

Ghanaian musician Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, widely known as Mzbel, has dismissed claims made by Prophet Jedidiah Henry Kore, popularly called Fire Oja, that he was not arrested following a complaint she filed with the police over his statements about her.

Mzbel had publicly said that the Ghana Police Service arrested Fire Oja on January 5, 2026 after she reported him for allegedly making false and defamatory remarks about her on social media. According to her account, the prophet’s comments included serious claims about her health and spiritual life, which she described as harmful to her reputation and wellbeing. She also stated that the police invited him, arrested him, and questioned him as part of the investigation into her complaint.

Fire Oja countered her announcement on social media by saying the reports of his arrest were false and that he was never in police custody at the time. He even shared videos online to show himself outside police facilities to support his claim that he had not been detained.

Despite his denial, Mzbel stood by her version of events, and various social media posts and news outlets indicate that he was indeed questioned by the police and later charged. Fire Oja has since been granted bail and is expected to appear in court in connection with the matter.

The dispute between the two public figures has also led to discussions about defamation and the limits of religious commentary in public, capturing widespread attention online.
