Afenyo-Markin Says He Shares A Political Code With Ken Agyapong After NPP Primaries Criticism
Member of Parliament Alexander Afenyo-Markin has responded publicly to criticism that followed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries, saying that he and fellow senior party member Kenneth Agyapong share a political understanding and vision.
Afenyo-Markin addressed comments from party supporters and critics who questioned the relationship between him and Agyapong during the selection process for parliamentary and party positions. He explained that their collaboration is rooted in a common commitment to the party’s principles and goals rather than personal interest.
According to him, both he and Agyapong are dedicated to strengthening the NPP and working together to promote unity and progress. He said that despite differing styles or approaches, they agree on the fundamentals that guide their political work and public service.
Afenyo-Markin also urged party members and the broader public to focus on constructive dialogue as the NPP moves forward after the primaries. He emphasised that internal disagreements should be resolved through democratic processes and respect for party rules.
The MP acknowledged the passion and opinions of supporters on social media, noting that healthy debate is part of a vibrant democratic system. However, he encouraged discussions that bring people together instead of deepening divisions within the party.
His remarks come amid ongoing conversations about unity, leadership and strategy as the NPP prepares for future elections and governance responsibilities
