KWAM 1’s Daughter Dami Denies Rumours She Is Dating Singer Asake

Damilola Basirat Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as Dami, and daughter of Nigerian Fuji music legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate), has publicly denied claims that she is in a romantic relationship with Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake. The clarification came after a photo of Dami and Asake together at a recent event went viral on social media, prompting wide speculation among fans and followers about a possible romance between the two personalities.

The rumours gained traction after Dami posted the picture with the singer using the caption “Mr Money and Mrs Money”, a phrase often associated with Asake’s public image. Many social media users interpreted the caption as an indication of a romantic connection, and this led to multiple blogs and online platforms sharing the story as a potential celebrity couple announcement.

In response to the growing chatter, Dami took to her Instagram page to set the record straight. She explained that the photo was taken during her first meeting with Asake and that there was no romantic involvement between them. She also cautioned her followers against believing everything they see online, especially rumours that are circulated for clicks or traffic. “Guys, that was my first time meeting him, so I took a picture. Do not believe blogs, they can do anything for traffic,” she wrote.

Dami is not only known as the daughter of a music icon but also as a legal practitioner and Senior Special Assistant on Tourism, Arts and Culture to the Lagos State Governor. Her clarification aimed to quell the speculation and remind followers that a single photo does not necessarily signal a personal relationship.

Asake, whose full name is Ahmed Ololade, has kept his personal life relatively private. He has not publicly confirmed any romantic relationship since he was last linked to his Gambian girlfriend, Madame Mystique, years ago
