GTA Celebrates With Inmates At Navrongo Central Prison And Ho Female Prison
Ghanaian rap star GTA (Ghana’s Top Advocate) brought joy and festive cheer to inmates at both Navrongo Central Prison and the Ho Female Prison as part of community outreach activities during the 2025–26 festive season. The visit was designed to lift spirits, spread positivity and share the holiday experience with prisoners who are often forgotten during celebrations.
The artiste, known for his energetic performances and impactful songs, took time off his schedule to engage with inmates, distributing essential items, foodstuffs and gifts. During his interaction with the prisoners, GTA encouraged them to stay hopeful and to focus on personal growth and reform as they spend time away from their families. He also offered words of encouragement and reassurance, telling them they were not forgotten by society.
At both correctional facilities, inmates responded warmly to his visit, showing appreciation for the gesture. The event featured music, laughter and moments of heartfelt connection, and many inmates expressed gratitude for the opportunity to interact with a public figure who took personal interest in their wellbeing. GTA shared that his motivation for the visits stemmed from a belief in the power of music and kindness to uplift spirits and inspire positive change even in difficult circumstances.
Officials of both prisons were on hand to support the programme and emphasised the importance of activities that recognise the dignity and humanity of inmates during significant occasions. They said efforts like these help boost morale and encourage rehabilitation and reintegration into society after release.
Through his visit, GTA also highlighted the need for greater attention to the welfare of incarcerated individuals, urging stakeholders and members of the public to consider the emotional and social needs of prison populations, especially during festive periods. The artiste has a history of community involvement, and this latest visit reflects his commitment to using his influence for social good.
