A former member of Destiny’s Child has publicly responded to claims made by Terrence Howard regarding a past romantic connection involving the group.
The controversy began after Howard revealed during a podcast interview that he once had an opportunity to date Beyoncé early in her career. However, he claimed he chose instead to pursue another member of the group, whom he described as “the girl with the blue eyes.”
Following the statement, former group member Farrah Franklin addressed the claims and offered a different version of events. She clarified that while she and Howard did spend some time together in the past, their interactions were strictly friendly and never romantic.
Franklin also corrected a detail from Howard’s account, noting that she has natural green eyes, not blue. She explained that their meetings were limited to a few casual outings and studio visits, dismissing any suggestion of a romantic relationship.
Despite the differing accounts, Franklin maintained a respectful tone, choosing not to escalate the issue. She acknowledged Howard’s talent and stated that she remains focused on her own career and personal growth.
Howard had also reflected on a moment during the 2005 BET Awards, suggesting that Beyoncé’s on-stage interaction with him may have been a subtle message about what he “missed out on.” However, this interpretation has not been confirmed by the singer.
