Nick Cannon and Amber Rose discuss support for Donald Trump
Nick Cannon and Amber Rose have discussed their political views on the latest episode of Cannon’s “Big Drive” podcast, with both expressing support for Donald Trump.
During the conversation, Cannon made historical claims about the two major political parties, describing the Democratic Party as the “party of the KKK” and saying Republicans are “the party that freed the slaves.”
While the Republican Party was founded in the 1850s as an anti-slavery party, historians note that the parties underwent a significant ideological realignment during the mid-20th century, particularly around civil rights legislation.
Cannon said he does not fully align with either party.
“I honestly don’t subscribe to either party,” he said. “I rock with W. E. B. Du Bois, when he said there’s no such thing as two parties. It’s just one evil party with two different names.”
He praised Trump for following through on campaign promises, citing the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and the administration’s immigration policies.
“He’s doing what he said he was going to do,” Cannon said. “I fuck with Trump.”
Rose’s political stance
Amber Rose has been an outspoken Trump supporter for several years and spoke at the Republican National Convention in 2024. She addressed the backlash she has received for her political alignment.
“During the election, I was ‘canceled,'” Rose told Maxim last year. “Now? All the naysayers are quiet. They see he’s already changing our country for the better.”
She criticised what she called the “woke left” for cancelling people with differing ideologies, adding that she remains firm in her beliefs regardless of criticism.
Rose and Cannon are among several celebrities who have publicly supported Trump. Rapper Nicki Minaj has also faced backlash in recent months for praising the Republican Party.
