Adenta Circuit Court Remands Ebo Noah, Orders Psychiatric Evaluation
Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, has been remanded into police custody for two weeks by the Adenta Circuit Court. The court also ordered that he undergo a psychiatric evaluation at Pantang Psychiatric Hospital ahead of his next hearing on January 15, 2026.
Ebo Noah was arrested on December 31, 2025, by the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team in Weija‑Gbawe. His arrest followed claims that God instructed him to build arks to save humanity from a global flood expected on December 25, 2025. The prediction attracted widespread attention on social media.
During the court session, the prosecution stated that Eshun’s videos and statements were made without lawful authority and were likely to cause fear among the public. He faces charges including false communication, misleading the public, and publishing false news.
In videos circulating online, Ebo Noah urged followers to prepare for the predicted disaster, including building what he called “modern‑day arks.” After the predicted flood did not occur, he released a video claiming the disaster was postponed due to his prayers and fasting, further intensifying public scrutiny.
The psychiatric evaluation is intended to assess Eshun’s mental fitness as the case proceeds. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 15, 2026, when the results of the evaluation will be considered.
Authorities have emphasised the importance of public safety and warned against sharing unverified claims that could cause unnecessary panic.
