Afenyo-Markin Reveals Kennedy Agyapong Gave Him 5 Million Dollars Without Formal Agreement
Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has disclosed that businessman and politician Kennedy Agyapong once gave him 5 million dollars without signing any formal agreement.
Speaking during a recent television interview, Afenyo-Markin explained that the financial support came at a critical time when his business was facing serious challenges. According to him, there was no written contract, no collateral, and no documented terms governing the transaction. He described the gesture as one built purely on trust, friendship, and a long standing relationship between the two men.
He emphasized that Kennedy Agyapong took a significant personal risk by offering such an amount without demanding formal documentation. Afenyo-Markin said the support played a crucial role in stabilizing his business operations during that difficult period.
Addressing public discussions surrounding Kennedy Agyapong’s strong performance in the New Patriotic Party presidential primary within the Effutu constituency, Afenyo-Markin rejected suggestions that their relationship influenced the outcome. He stated that his political strength in the constituency is rooted in years of service, development initiatives, and consistent engagement with constituents.
He also revealed plans to establish an information and communications technology center in honor of Kennedy Agyapong. According to him, the project has been in development discussions for several years and is intended to support youth empowerment and digital skills training in the area.
Afenyo-Markin maintained that his relationship with Kennedy Agyapong remains one of mutual respect and gratitude, stressing that their bond was forged long before current political dynamics.
