Nigerian singer Asake has finally responded after Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti publicly advised him to be cautious in his relationship and work with Grammy-winning star Wizkid.
Seun Kuti’s warning came amid an ongoing online feud between Seun and Wizkid, sparked by Seun’s criticism of Wizkid’s fanbase and broader debates over music legacy and respect.
Rather than backing down, Asake affirmed his continued collaboration with Wizkid. On January 23, 2026, he announced the release of their joint project titled Real EP Vol. 1, sharing a promotional video and caption on social media saying the EP is out now.
The announcement followed the release of their lead single “Jogodo” earlier in the month, which built anticipation for the full EP. Fans have since expressed excitement over the music despite the backdrop of tension between Seun Kuti and Wizkid.
