Bullgod Says Most Ghanaian Artistes Do Not Understand Their Contracts

Entertainment manager and critic Bullgod has raised concerns about how record deals and contracts are handled in Ghana’s music industry. He said that nearly 90 percent of Ghanaian artistes sign agreements without fully understanding the terms, often leaving them at a disadvantage.

According to Bullgod, many artists enter into contracts without legal representation or proper advice, which means they sometimes give up important rights like ownership of their image, music, and earnings. He believes this lack of clarity and guidance can hurt artists financially and professionally.

Bullgod urged creatives to take their time before signing deals, to study the conditions carefully, and to seek legal help if possible. He emphasized that artists should protect their interests and avoid agreements that could limit their future opportunities.

His comments reflect a wider discussion in Ghana about the need for better awareness and education around contracts in the entertainment industry, so that artists understand what they are signing and avoid exploitative terms.
