Campaign Should Focus On Ideas Not Insults Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh Says
Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Vice Presidential Candidate Of The New Patriotic Party For The 2024 Election, Has Urged Supporters And Party Members To Base Their Campaign On Ideas Instead Of Personal Attacks And Insults.
Dr Opoku Prempeh Acknowledged That Internal Party Contests Can Generate Tension And Disagreement But Emphasised That Such Tension Should Never Lead To Insults, Aggression Or Behaviour That Could Divide The Party. He Stressed The Need For Respectful Engagement And Positive Debate On Policies And Vision For The Nation.
According To Him, The Strength Of The Party Has Always Been Its Focus On Development And Shared Goals, And This Must Be Preserved During The Flagbearer And Supporter Campaigns. He Said Party Members Should Present Theirs Views And Persuade Others Through Constructive Arguments Rather Than Resorting To Demeaning Language Or Hostile Conduct.
Dr Opoku Prempeh’s Remarks Come At A Time When The New Patriotic Party Is Preparing For Internal Elections And Increased Political Activity. He Called For Unity And Discipline Among Aspirants And Their Supporters, Reminding Them That Political Differences Should Not Undermine The Party’s Larger Objectives.
He Urged Delegates, Supporters And Campaign Teams To Prioritize Discussions On Policies That Will Improve The Lives Of Ghanaians And Strengthen The Party’s Platform For Future National Elections. His Appeal Is A Call For Mature And Responsible Politics As The Party Moves Forward.
