Chike Calls Out Woman He Says Duped Him Of $20,000 In Alleged Fake Deal
Popular Nigerian singer Chike has publicly accused a social media user of allegedly defrauding him of $20,000 in what he described as a purported business arrangement that never materialised.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday morning, Chike named the woman as Chioma Nneoma Ochibili and warned his followers against engaging in business with her. He claimed he gave her the money for what he believed was a legitimate business opportunity, only to later discover that the venture may not have been real.
In a series of posts, the Grammy‑nominated artist expressed shock at realising he had possibly been scammed. “Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief?” he wrote, adding that the business “does not even exist,” which he said equates to fraud. The singer lamented that his “hard earned money” was gone and that he found out about the situation far too late.
Chike’s posts suggested that others may have also fallen victim to similar transactions with the same woman, and he urged the public to exercise caution and avoid doing business with her. The singer emphasised that the focus should be on the alleged fraudulent nature of the deal rather than specifics of the business itself.
He also confirmed that he has begun steps to recover the money he says he lost and indicated that the matter is being pursued beyond social media posts. As of now, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili has not publicly responded to the allegations made by Chike.
The development has drawn attention online, with many social media users reacting to the situation and weighing in on the importance of verifying business opportunities before investing significant sums of money.
