CSA To Investigate Alleged Russian Man’s Intimate Recordings Of Ghanaian Women

Ghana’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has confirmed that it will investigate claims that a man of Russian nationality secretly recorded intimate videos of several Ghanaian women without their consent. The case has drawn attention on social media and raised serious concerns about privacy and online abuse.

According to the CID, the matter was reported to police after clips allegedly showing private moments involving Ghanaian women began circulating online. Authorities say they have launched a formal inquiry to determine whether any laws were broken and to identify those responsible for creating and sharing the recordings.

Officials emphasized that recording or distributing videos of private activities without permission is a violation of Ghanaian law and personal privacy rights. The CID said it will pursue all available legal avenues to investigate the situation thoroughly and hold anyone found culpable accountable.

Police also urged members of the public to avoid spreading the clips or discussing them in ways that could further violate the privacy and dignity of the women allegedly featured. They stressed that such material should not be shared on social platforms while investigations are underway.

The alleged incident has sparked widespread debate online, with many people condemning the act as exploitative and insensitive. Social media users have called for swift action by law enforcement and stronger safeguards to protect individuals from digital exploitation.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the identity of the accused Russian man or provided details about how the videos were obtained. The CID said that its investigation will also seek to establish the authenticity of the recordings and the circumstances under which they were made.

The exercise reflects growing concerns about digital privacy in Ghana, particularly with the increasing prevalence of smartphones and social media platforms. Legal experts say that unauthorized recording and distribution of private content can lead to serious criminal charges, including offenses related to voyeurism, cyber abuse, and invasion of privacy.

Police are encouraging anyone with information about the case to come forward and assist with the investigation while reminding the public that sharing unverified or sensitive content online can have legal consequences.
