Daddy Lumba Celebration Of Life Event Scheduled For March
Plans are underway for a “Celebration of Life” event for the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba, with dates set for March 28 and 29 next year, according to Evangelist Papa Shee. The gathering is intended to honour the life and legacy of the iconic Ghanaian musician following his passing in July 2025.
Papa Shee, who has been speaking publicly about the late artist’s memorial plans, said the event will take place over two days and will not be held in Kumasi where previous funeral activities took place, but rather in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
The announcement follows ongoing discussions and some controversy about funeral arrangements after Daddy Lumba’s death. He died on July 26, 2025, leaving behind a celebrated body of work and a profound influence on Ghana’s music scene.
Supporters and fans of the legendary musician are expected to gather to celebrate his contributions to highlife music and his impact on Ghanaian culture.
