Diesel Tanker Crash At Anyinam Enyiresi Claims Two Lives, Leaves Five Injured

A tragic road accident at Anyinam Enyiresi on the Accra Kumasi Highway has resulted in the death of two people and left five others injured. The crash involved a diesel tanker and a passenger vehicle, drawing emergency services and disrupting traffic along the busy stretch of road.

According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when the diesel tanker reportedly lost control while in motion. The tanker veered off its lane and collided with an oncoming passenger bus carrying several occupants. The impact caused severe damage to the smaller vehicle, trapping some passengers and prompting an urgent rescue response.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Rescue teams worked quickly to assist victims and clear the roadway. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another later died after being transported to a nearby medical facility. The remaining five injured passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to hospitals in the area for treatment. One of the injured victims was later referred to a larger hospital for further medical care.

The driver of the tanker and his assistant reportedly escaped without injuries and are cooperating with authorities as investigations continue. Police have since launched an inquiry to determine the exact cause of the accident, including possible mechanical failure or driver error.

The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety on major highways, particularly those frequently used by heavy-duty vehicles. Authorities are urging drivers to observe traffic regulations, ensure vehicles are roadworthy, and exercise caution to help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
