FIFA Opens Media Accreditation For 2026 World Cup Coverage
FIFA has officially opened the media accreditation process for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, inviting journalists, photographers, broadcasters and other media representatives from around the world to apply.
The accreditation window began on January 26, 2026, and interested media personnel must submit their applications through the FIFA Media Hub before the March 31 deadline.
Eligible applicants include written press from print and digital outlets, photographers, news agencies, limited radio and TV non-rights holders, and FIFA’s official media partners. Accreditation will allow access to key media facilities during the expanded 48-team tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
FIFA is expected to begin processing approved applications in March, but candidates must also complete mandatory security checks as part of the process. With huge global interest anticipated for the 2026 event, accreditation is seen as an essential step for professionals covering one of the biggest sporting spectacles in history.
