Ghana Is Crying Out For Bold Competent Leadership, Says Afenyo-Markin
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has stated that Ghana urgently needs strong and competent leadership from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to address the country’s economic challenges. He made these remarks at the first sitting of the second session of Parliament, where he criticized the current administration’s handling of the economy and questioned its ability to deliver meaningful transformation for citizens.
Afenyo-Markin said that under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, economic management has focused too much on public relations efforts and not enough on solid policy outcomes that improve living standards. He argued that Ghanaians are yearning for bold leadership that inspires confidence and restores dignity to the nation.
The Minority Leader highlighted the track record of the NPP in governance, pointing to periods when the party was in power and emphasizing that those years were marked by stability and developmental progress. Afenyo-Markin insisted that this record shows the NPP has a tested and credible blueprint for economic management that can guide Ghana to recovery and growth.
He maintained that the NPP should not be seen simply as an alternative political choice but as the solution the country needs to move forward. Afenyo-Markin told his colleagues and the public that a return to competent governance is vital if Ghana is to tackle economic difficulties and lay the foundation for future prosperity.
His comments reflect concerns from members of the opposition about the direction of national policy and the need for leadership that prioritizes effective economic planning and delivery
