Luka Doncic has been cleared to play in Game 2 of the NBA Finals after being upgraded from questionable to available. Doncic had been dealing with a sprained right knee and left ankle soreness during the playoffs, and even picked up a thoracic contusion in Game 1. But now, he’s ready to hit the court and show off his skills. Let’s cheer on the Mavs and hope for a big win in Game 2.
Luka Doncic hasn’t been in top physical condition throughout this playoff journey, which did impact his shooting numbers initially. However, that hasn’t stopped him from consistently shining as one of the top players. In his 18 playoff games this year, he’s averaging 28.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 8.4 assists. He currently ranks seventh in scoring, tenth in rebounding, and third in assists among all players. impressive stats, right?
Luka was quick to take responsibility for Game 2 losing 0-2 to Boston, admitting to missing a few free throws and turning the ball over too many times. But let’s be real, he still showed up big with 32 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and four steals, causing problems for Boston throughout the game.
The real issue was the lack of support from his teammates. And let’s not forget, Luka isn’t feeling 100% with some soreness in his chest and legs. It’s tough for him to carry the team when he’s not at full strength, especially when he’s outscoring his teammates in the first half and playing so many minutes.
The Mavericks also struggled with their 3-point shooting, only hitting 23% from beyond the arc. Luka made four of those shots, while the rest of the team only made two. This imbalance is definitely hurting the team and causing them to fall behind in the series.
After this game, the Mavericks are heading back to Dallas for the next two games. They are hoping to take home court advantage with a win in Game 2. Vide
