In a social media video post, Kanayo accused Angel Unigwe of breaching their contract. He claimed that the mother of the young actress prevented her daughter from fulfilling their agreement during a recent production. According to Kanayo, the mother frequently disrupts productions by removing her daughter from the set. Although Unigwe is just 18-year-old he has acted in many movies and television series and won the Trailblazer Award at the 2023 AMVCA.
He brought up an instance when the actress was summarily escorted at 9 pm, although upon signing the contract that stated they would shoot until midnight.
Kanayo also said that the actress’s mother called a number of producers to threaten them. He went on to defend his actions stating he is just trying to “save and protect” Nigerian Film Industry from Unigwe productions.
“A contract is reached by every producer either orally or written and it is all respected,” he said.
“Immediately this woman takes money from you everything changes. “I have gotten reports from people before it happened to me.
“Last night, she took her daughter at 9 pm when a particular day we agreed had not expired. And this is a clarion call for every producer.
“In the name of professionalism and all that unites us, from the 21st day of June 2024, any set that employs the services of Angel Unigwe, I will come to that set and make sure filming does not hold.” Although Unigwe is just 18-year-old he has acted in many movies and television series.
