Kroos Said Goodbye To Club Football With The Champions League Trophy As Reus Accepted His Destiny In Good Faith

Wembley displayed a colorful event once again. Icons like Jay Z, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Arsenal Wenger, Figo, Frorentino Perez, the UEFA entourage, and a lot of dignitaries all showed up at the VIP seat as Dortmund battled their Faith Against the European masters, Real Madrid.

As a victory for Madrid would mark a record 15 times European champions, the main spotlight of the game was Tony Kroos’s retirement and Marco Reus’s departure from Dortmund after a long stay.

As expected, Toni carried the day as he lifted the champions league title for a joint six times record with a splendid assist from a corner kick spot. He displayed a five star performance with a great free kick which almost touched the net.

Tony is the football hero at the moment but we can’t leave out his German brother, MARCO REUS. He is simply the definition of loyalty. Marco have worn the yellow colors for over a decade with super performances. He was tipped one of the promising stars in 2012//013 season as Dortmund made it to the champions league finals with Bayern Munich.

Clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and the likes all tripped for his signature but he chose never to betray the yellow side of Germany.

Unfortunately he couldn’t fill his trophy cabinet extravagantly but his loyalty to the club cant be underestimated. The likes of Lewandowski, Gundogan, Mario Gotze, Mat Hummel, Aubameyang, Erling Haaland, etc all played with him at Dortmund but opted for better options that will cushion their trophy cabinet. For Reus he chose to prioritize loyalty.

This was his final match for Dortmund but once again it was made clear on the field of play that he simply wasn’t made for the floodlights. Dortmund looked promising without him but became toothless when he entered the pitch. The Dortmund team was just better without Reus but it was just unacceptable to warm him on the bench for ninety minutes on such a big night made for him.

Marco Reus was one of the favorite choices of Joachim Low in the 2014 German team that won the World Cup but was grievously seized by injury prior to the tournament.

He is just not made for the honors but let’s not forget that in all, he made a mark under the umbrella of loyalty and Dortmund can’t leave him out of their legends

Congratulations Tony Kroos, you made the right decisions that will sprinkle roses on your unique talent but never forget to accommodate your brother’s head in your glorious chest.

heads up MARCO REUS 11
