Dada KD’s Son Rejects Suicide Note Claims And Clarifies Circumstances Around His Father’s Passing
The son of late Ghanaian highlife musician Dada KD has firmly denied widespread reports that his father left a suicide note before his death. Gyimah Peterson, also known as Jim Pee, addressed the rumours directly, insisting there is no evidence that such a note exists and describing the speculation as inaccurate.
In recent days social media and some online posts suggested that a note was found near the musician’s body and that it contained details about his final thoughts. Jim Pee has publicly refuted these assertions, saying he has not seen any document of that kind and that the reports have caused unnecessary confusion for the family and fans.
Dada KD, whose real name was Nana Kwakye Duah, was a well-known highlife artist celebrated for his influential contributions to Ghanaian music over several decades. He passed away on May 16, 2025, at Gbawe SDA Hospital in Accra. His death was widely mourned across the entertainment community and by fans both in Ghana and abroad.
Speaking on local radio, Jim Pee emphasised that his father was a private person, and while his death sparked much discussion, the family wishes for respect and sensitivity. He urged the public, especially fans and media, to avoid spreading unverified claims that could deepen misunderstanding about his father’s final moments.
Officials have not released any official cause of death, and no formal confirmation of a note has been provided by authorities. The focus among family and supporters remains on celebrating Dada KD’s musical legacy and impact on highlife music.
