Ghanaian musician Mzbel has opened up about her journey to welcoming her second child, revealing how she conceived and gave birth at the age of 44 after years of trying. The singer chose to keep the experience private for two years before sharing her story publicly.
Speaking about her journey, Mzbel challenged common perceptions about age and childbirth, stressing that pregnancy is still possible for women over 40. She stated that the notion that women cannot give birth once they reach age 40 is false, adding that she gave birth to her daughter at 44. She noted that there are local medicines that can prepare the womb and tubes, making conception possible.
Mzbel recounted that her path to motherhood was not straightforward. She explained that she initially underwent several expensive medical treatments, all of which failed to yield results. Despite the financial investment in these procedures, she did not achieve pregnancy.
She revealed that her breakthrough came through Hajia Fertility, who provided her with medicine and instructions on how to prepare it. She took the medicine for about four to five months before conceiving.
Since the birth of her child, Mzbel said many people have reached out to her privately, eager to know how she managed to conceive at her age. She noted that she did not respond to most of the inquiries, only engaging with those close to her. Her story has since sparked conversations about fertility options for women over 40.
