NAM1 Says He Intends To Assign Lawyers To Each Accused In Menzgold Case
Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as NAM1, has informed the High Court in Accra that he intends to assign lawyers to represent each of the accused persons involved in the ongoing Menzgold criminal case.
He made this known during a court sitting when the judge sought clarification on legal representation for the accused persons. NAM1 assured the court that arrangements were being made to ensure that every accused individual would have legal counsel as the trial progresses.
The case involves multiple charges against NAM1 and others, including allegations of defrauding customers, operating an unlicensed deposit taking business and related offences. The prosecution has already presented its case, and the court has previously ruled that there is a case for the accused to answer.
NAM1 explained that the decision to assign lawyers to each accused person was to ensure a fair trial and proper representation throughout the proceedings. He also requested additional time to finalise arrangements with legal teams before the next hearing.
The court took note of his statement and adjourned the case to a later date to allow the defence to complete preparations. The trial continues as one of the most closely watched financial crime cases in the country.
