Lil Wayne’s Children Open Up About Challenges Growing Up With Fame

Lil Wayne’s children have shared how their father’s fame made school life challenging and affected their ability to form normal friendships. The discussion took place on Reginae Carter’s Heir Time podcast, where she was joined by her siblings Dwayne Carter III, Kameron Carter, and Neal “Lil Novi” Carter.
Kameron explained that being known as “Wayne’s son” often overshadowed his individuality, making it difficult to build genuine connections with classmates. Reginae added that while the attention could be flattering, she wanted friendships based on who she was rather than her family name.
Dwayne III noted that attending private school brought extra attention and unusual questions from peers. Moving to public school later helped ease some of that pressure, as classmates focused more on him as a person rather than his father’s fame.
While Lil Novi did not speak extensively about school challenges, he is pursuing his own career in music and developing his identity as an artist, following in his father’s footsteps.
Despite the early difficulties, the Carter siblings say they have learned to navigate life with a famous parent, balancing their personal identity with the attention that comes from growing up in the public eye.
