Pop Smoke’s Family To Open Coffee Shop In Honour Of Late Rapper
The family of late American rapper Pop Smoke has announced plans to launch a coffee shop in his memory, nearly six years after his passing.
The new venture, named Pop’s Place, will be located in Canarsie, Brooklyn, the neighbourhood where the rapper was raised and began his journey in music. The project is being led by his brother, Obasi Jackson, who shared the announcement publicly and revealed that preparations for the café are already underway.
According to details shared by the family, the coffee shop is intended to be more than just a business. It is being designed as a community space where fans, residents, and supporters can gather to celebrate the rapper’s life and lasting influence.
As part of the early stages, the team has begun recruiting experienced baristas to help bring the vision to life. While key details such as the full menu, official opening date, and final design are yet to be disclosed, anticipation around the project continues to grow among fans.
To give the public an early experience, the family is also planning a pop-up event in Canarsie. The event will serve as a soft launch, offering visitors a preview of the café’s offerings, including food items and exclusive merchandise tied to the brand.
Pop Smoke, born Bashar Barakah Jackson, rose to fame as a leading figure in Brooklyn drill music with hit songs that quickly gained global attention. His life was tragically cut short in February 2020 during a home invasion in Los Angeles at the age of 20.
Despite his untimely death, his legacy continues to live on through music, cultural influence, and initiatives led by his family, including community-focused efforts under the Shoot for the Stars Foundation. The launch of Pop’s Place represents another step in preserving his memory while giving back to the community that shaped him.
