President Mahama Urges Fairer Global Cooperation At World Governments Summit In Dubai
President John Dramani Mahama has called on world leaders and policymakers to make global systems more inclusive and responsive to the needs of all nations, especially developing countries, during his address at the World Governments Summit 2026 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Speaking at the summit under the theme “Shaping Future Governments”, President Mahama emphasised the importance of global collaboration and equitable participation in decision-making processes that affect every region of the world. He said traditional governance structures must evolve to ensure that countries of all sizes and levels of development have a real voice in shaping the future.
Mahama also used the platform to highlight Africa’s growing economic potential. He pointed out that the continent’s population of more than 1.3 billion people presents enormous opportunities for investment, trade, innovation and shared growth. He urged global investors and partners to look beyond traditional aid models and instead pursue partnerships that build long-term prosperity and resilience.
In addition, the President stressed the need for cooperation on global challenges such as climate change, technology governance, and inclusive economic growth. He said solutions to these issues will require joint action and a shared commitment to fairness and sustainability.
President Mahama’s participation at the summit reinforces Ghana’s commitment to engaging with global leaders and advocating for stronger multilateral ties that benefit both local and international communities.
