Ghana’s New Ambassador to Italy Presents Letters of Credence to Italian President
Ghana’s newly appointed Ambassador to Italy, Mona-Helen Kabuki Quartey, has officially begun her diplomatic mission after presenting her Letters of Credence to Sergio Mattarella, the President of the Italian Republic. The formal ceremony took place on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the Quirinale Palace in Rome, marking a significant moment for diplomatic relations between Ghana and Italy.
During the event, Ambassador Quartey handed over her credentials, a key diplomatic step that confirms her authority to represent Ghana in the Italian Republic. The ceremony also included the presentation of the Letter of Recall for her predecessor, completing the transition of Ghana’s top diplomatic post in Rome.
The occasion was described as warm and forward-looking, reflecting shared commitments by both countries to strengthen bilateral relations in areas such as political collaboration, economic cooperation, cultural exchange, and multilateral engagement. Members of the Ghanaian diplomatic mission and officials from both governments were present to witness the formal proceedings.
