Gospel musician Yaw Siki has cautioned rising artists against venturing into secular music unless they have already secured strong industry recognition and influence. Speaking during an interview on Okay FM, the former secular rapper turned gospel minister shared insights drawn from his personal journey in the music industry.
Yaw Siki explained that the secular music space comes with intense pressure, temptations, and expectations that can be difficult to manage, especially for artists who are still trying to establish themselves. According to him, only musicians who are already operating at the highest level may have the leverage and stability to navigate that environment without losing control of their values or direction.
Reflecting on his own transition from secular to gospel music, he indicated that fame and financial success can create attachments that make it hard for artists to walk away later.
