Kelvynboy Urges Industry Players To Support Rising Musicians
Ghanaian Afrobeat singer Kelvynboy has encouraged established musicians and stakeholders in the music industry to support emerging talents, just as Stonebwoy once supported him during the early stages of his career.
Speaking in an interview, Kelvynboy emphasised the importance of mentorship and support for young artists trying to find their place in the competitive music industry. According to him, upcoming musicians often struggle to gain recognition and opportunities, making it crucial for already successful artists to extend a helping hand.
Kelvynboy explained that his own journey in the music industry was shaped by the opportunity he received from Stonebwoy when he was still trying to break into the mainstream scene. The Afro-dancehall star signed him to the Burniton Music Group, where he gained exposure, industry experience, and the platform needed to reach a wider audience.
The singer noted that such support systems are vital because many talented artists lack the resources and connections needed to promote their work. He believes that when established musicians guide and promote new talents, it strengthens the entire music industry.
Kelvynboy also stated that upcoming artists should not be discouraged by the challenges they face. Instead, they should remain focused, continue improving their craft, and take advantage of every opportunity that comes their way.
Reflecting on his own experience, he said the encouragement and opportunities he received earlier in his career helped shape his growth as an artist. For that reason, he believes it is important for successful musicians to invest time and effort in helping the next generation of performers.
“I think it’s very important to help upcoming artistes, just like Stonebwoy did for me,” he said while discussing the role established musicians can play in nurturing new talent.
Kelvynboy’s remarks highlight the ongoing conversation about mentorship and collaboration within the Ghanaian music industry, where many rising artists continue to look up to established performers for guidance and opportunities.
Today, Kelvynboy has built his own name in the industry with several hit songs and performances across Ghana and beyond. His call for support serves as a reminder that collective growth and mentorship can help the music industry thrive.
