Alex Iwobi Launches Music Career With “More To Life” EP
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi, who plays for Fulham FC, has taken a bold step into the music world by unveiling his debut EP titled More To Life under his artist name 17.
The eight‑track body of work, set for release on April 9, 2026, blends Afrowave and Afrobeats influences with themes drawn from Iwobi’s Nigerian heritage and personal journey. The project was introduced to fans with the early release of the lead track “TRACK 0 (FREESTYLE)”, which offers a glimpse of his artistic style.
Album artwork reflects the theme of growth and self‑discovery, incorporating childhood photos from 1998, 2004, and 2010 that visualise his evolution both on and off the pitch. The EP features collaborations with a lineup of artists including Fido, Giddi, Teniola Time, 4AM, and SPKS. It also includes a track with fellow footballer Amadou Onana, who appears under his music alias 24AM.
Iwobi’s decision to enter the music industry comes as he continues to perform at a high level in professional football. While best known for his midfield role with Fulham and Nigeria’s national team, he has been developing his musical skills since his teenage years. His earlier releases, including his debut single Don’t Shoot and follow‑ups like What’s Luv?, helped build momentum ahead of this major project.
Balancing football with music has shown Iwobi’s commitment to exploring his passions beyond the sport. His entry into music marks a unique crossover in the entertainment and sports worlds, highlighting that athletes can successfully pursue creative careers alongside their athletic endeavours
