Outrage Over Russian Man Sharing Videos With Ghanaian Women Online
Social media users in Ghana have expressed strong criticism and concern after a man claiming to be a Russian national shared videos online showing encounters he had with several Ghanaian women. The content has sparked debate about consent, privacy, and the ethics of recording and publicising private moments without clear permission.
According to reports, the man, who identifies himself as Yaytseslav, frequently approaches women in public areas in Accra, especially around Accra Mall. He is said to start conversations with them, exchange phone numbers, and in some cases convince the women to visit his residence. He then records parts of these interactions and posts them on platforms such as TikTok and YouTube.
Multiple clips featuring different women are currently circulating, with about 40 videos reported across his social media channels. In addition to free content on public platforms, he also allegedly runs a private Telegram channel where subscribers pay a monthly fee of around five US dollars to access exclusive footage.
The situation has drawn backlash from many online users. Critics have raised concerns that the women shown in the videos may not have given informed consent for the recordings to be shared publicly. Many social media users are now calling for authorities to investigate whether the activities violate privacy laws or ethical standards.
Reactions on platforms like X and Facebook range from outrage over the perceived exploitation of the women to broader discussions about personal responsibility and the impact of social media on privacy. Some commentators have urged law enforcement to intervene and ensure that consent and dignity are protected.
As of now, no official statement has been released by Ghanaian authorities regarding the matter or any investigation into the recordings. Social media users continue to follow the story closely and express their views on how such content should be handled online.
