Ghana Embassy In Doha Urges Citizens To Submit Travel Details
The Ghana Embassy in Doha, Qatar, has called on Ghanaian nationals in the country to submit their travel details and register with the mission as part of emergency preparedness measures.
The directive comes amid rising security tensions in parts of the Middle East, which have already disrupted civilian airspace and international travel across several Gulf countries. According to the embassy, the move is intended to ensure that Ghanaian citizens can be contacted quickly and assisted if the situation worsens.
In a statement, the embassy urged all Ghanaians living in Qatar who have not yet registered with the mission to do so immediately. The registration process requires citizens to submit important information, including their travel details and contact information, to help the mission maintain accurate records of Ghanaian nationals in the country.
Officials explained that the exercise will enable the embassy to strengthen communication with Ghanaian residents and provide timely assistance when necessary. It will also allow authorities to coordinate emergency support or evacuation arrangements if the security situation in the region deteriorates.
The embassy indicated that the directive applies to all Ghanaian nationals in Qatar, including students, workers, families, and short term visitors. Citizens have been encouraged to complete the registration process through an online form provided by the mission.
The appeal follows escalating geopolitical tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which have triggered missile and drone activity affecting several countries in the Gulf region, including Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates.
Diplomatic officials believe collecting the travel details of Ghanaian nationals will help the embassy respond quickly if emergency measures such as evacuations or safety advisories become necessary.
The mission has assured citizens that all information submitted through the registration process will be treated with strict confidentiality and used only for official consular and emergency purposes.
Authorities say they will continue to monitor developments in the region and provide updates through official communication channels if the situation changes.
