Nana Agradaa Expected To Be Released From Prison Next Week

Televangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, better known as Nana Agradaa, is set to regain her freedom from prison on March 3, 2026, her lawyer has confirmed. Her impending release comes after the application of Ghana’s standard remission policy, which allows for early release based on good conduct while serving a custodial sentence.

According to legal representative Richard Asare Baffour, the controversial preacher’s original custodial punishment was reduced by the Amasaman High Court from 15 years to 12 months, a decision the court said reflected fairness under the circumstances. Because of this reduction and the remission system, Agradaa has now served the portion required to qualify for release next month.

Baffour emphasised that her release is in line with the normal prison regulations that apply to inmates who demonstrate good behaviour during their sentences, rather than a special exemption. He clarified that this is a policy applied uniformly to eligible prisoners.

Nana Agradaa was convicted in July 2025 on charges including charlatanic advertisement and defrauding by false pretence linked to activities promoted through her ministry, which involved claims about doubling money that led to public complaints.

Her case has remained in the spotlight due to her high profile as a televangelist and former traditional priestess, and the sentence reduction drew mixed reactions from both supporters and critics
