Woman Assaulted By Microcredit Firm Staff Shares Harrowing Account

A woman who was seen in a widely shared video being assaulted by employees of a microcredit firm has spoken out about her experience, describing the incident as traumatic and unjust.

The victim, identified as Hagar, said the assault occurred during a visit by field officers of Bills Micro‑Credit to her home. In the video, she can be seen being physically attacked by some of the staff members. The footage quickly spread online and sparked public outrage.

In her account of the incident, Hagar said she was shocked by the behaviour of the officers, who she said used excessive force and treated her with disrespect. She explained that the confrontation began over a dispute related to the loan company’s operations but escalated far beyond what she expected.

According to her, the assault left her with both physical pain and emotional distress. She described the experience as dehumanising and harmful, adding that she never anticipated such treatment from agents of a financial institution.

Hagar’s testimony has renewed discussions about the conduct of some microcredit companies and the behaviour of their staff, especially when engaging with clients who may be struggling with loan repayments or other financial difficulties.

Several social media users who reacted to the video expressed concern about the apparent use of violence by the officers and called for authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly. Many argued that physical force should never be used in debt collection or financial matters.

The incident has also led to broader calls for stronger regulation and oversight of microcredit firms to ensure that clients are treated with dignity and that disputes are resolved through lawful channels rather than confrontation.

Law enforcement agencies and relevant regulators are expected to review the events leading up to the assault and determine appropriate action against any individuals found to have acted unlawfully.

Hagar has said she hopes her account will encourage justice and help prevent similar incidents from happening to others in vulnerable situations.
