Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o has opened up about a long-standing health challenge, revealing that she now has more than 50 uterine fibroids, a condition she first encountered over a decade ago. The 42-year-old Hollywood star spoke about her situation during a recent interview, where she described how the growths have returned in greater numbers and shared how the experience has shaped her perspective.
Nyong’o explained that she was initially diagnosed with fibroids in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award, and underwent surgery to remove about 23 of them. However, she recently learned that the condition has returned and intensified, with imaging revealing over 50 fibroids at this stage. Her largest fibroid has been described as significant in size when compared with familiar objects.
