MUSIGA Explains GH¢500 Contribution To Yaw Sarpong’s Funeral

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has publicly explained its GH¢500 contribution to the funeral arrangements of the late gospel music icon Yaw Sarpong, following widespread public reactions.

During a statement issued on 19 February 2026, the union clarified that the donation was part of an immediate support effort for the beloved artist’s family. MUSIGA emphasized its respect for Yaw Sarpong’s legacy and highlighted ongoing dialogue with government officials to secure additional support for the funeral rites.
